[Catalyst] noob tutorial help

Can you point the link to the tutorial that are looking into ?

am working through the tutorial , but example at the beginning to add the
hello to root.pm, the catalyst page is fine on and
http://localhost:3000/ works,
but when i tried making the edit to root.pm file as shown in tutorial to do
a simple url dispatch http://localhost:3000/ hello .... page not found
IIRC, he's on chapter 1 and further in that chapter on in the next, it walks
you through (one way of) resolving this.

Can you send us the output of the development server. Should look something
like this ...

are you refering to
"cut and paste POD doc's" ? I cut from the web page and paste into MS
notepad, thats not enough? (my experience is that notepad removes all
formatting)

If I create a new catalyst app, then add "sub hello ..." to the root
controller, then reload the dev server everything is fine.

Have you reloaded the dev server?

Are you sure you edited the correct file and not a copy?


If all your answers are yes please do the following:

catalyst.pl Foo
cd Foo
vim lib/Foo/Controller/Root.pm
# add 'sub hello :Global { my ( $self, $c ) = @_; $c->response->body( "Hello
world!" ); }'
./script/foo_server.pl -d

then hit /hello again

works now, phew.. seems to be an editor issue, this time i used emacs, i
should remember i spent days having a similar problem once. but thanks for
all the help. i definately will stay with catalyst because of it.
