For those interested, Amazon.com is shipping now pre-orders for "The

Thanks for this. Indeed they are, officially the book is being
    released on Friday.

I wrote about 2/3 of it, Matt Trout wrote about two chapters and
helped me plan out the outline. Eden Cardim (with a lot of help from
Robert "Phaylon" Seladek) wrote chapter 12 on Reaction, Jay Kuri
wrote the Authenication chapter, and Jess Robinson the chapter on
    DBIx::Class.

Marcus Ramberg provided us with a foreword, and Jesse Scheidlower
helped me a lot with the proof reading of the final stages of the
book. A cast of many helped me with Chapter 11 (the Catalyst Cookbook).

And finally, here's the table of contents:

CHAPTER 1 Introducing the Catalyst Web Application
    Framework .............1
CHAPTER 2 Catalyst Setup and Background Knowledge .....................
    19
    CHAPTER 3 Your First Catalyst

CHAPTER 9 Interacting with Web Services in Your
    Applications .............219
    CHAPTER 10 Extending

    CHAPTER 11 Catalyst

Anybody going to have one of those "link to Amazon from here and
we'll get a donation" links on their web page. (hint hint)
    Hmm, http://books.perl.org/ should, but doesn't...?
(I'll wait until tomorrow before ordering....)

Both links below point to amazon.co.uk which still doesn't have the book.
Maybe you could point as well to amazon.com: The USA site already has the
book, and it's cheaper. Although I don't know how much the shipping is going
to be compared to the UK site.

'Cheaper' will depend on your location, but many times I've seen
Amazon.co.uk shipping time including time spent shipping from the US.

I've had a different experience so far. I pre-ordered the book on amazon.ca
back on June 19th, and it estimated it would ship July 10, the release date.
Then today I got a message from Amazon saying it had been delayed, and now they
    say, I kid you not:

    Estimated ship date: August 05 2009 - October 21 2009

Now that's probably a glitch, which will be corrected shortly with a new
estimate, and usually my experience with Amazon is they ship things ahead of
their estimates. But as a hedge I went and placed a separate amazon.com order
now, which it estimates to ship on July 17th. The idea that when one ships I'll
cancel the other one (or end up with 2 copies if they ship simultaneously). So
we'll see what I get first.

Was hoping the same, but update from Amazon.co.uk today says:

obtaining stock for the following items you ordered on July 11 2009.
