FAQ
whenever i try to use urllib.urlopen() in Python20/Win32, i get this error:

Fatal Python error: Interpreter not initialized (version mismatch?)

abnormal program termination
-END-
it also gives the same thing with urllib2. any ideas?

    By "Win32" do you mean Win 3.1 with Win32 extensions or what? I've used
    Python20 and urllib on Win98SE with no problems.

    your interpreter is picking up an old (1.5.2?) DLL. to figure
    out which one, and where it is, run Python with the -v option.

    fixing the PYTHONPATH should take care of this.
