Magnus...thanks for the token (dynamic buffer) patch...

I encounter the following error when attempting to "make" the November 15 snapshot using minGW/MSYS on Windows XP SP1 w/o admin privileges (the message suggests posting to the "bugs" list but based on the list descriptions...I am posting to the "ports" list):
