I guess you must have already found the answer. For the sake of anyone who
looks for this information -
If you are running the pig cmd (if it is in BASEDIR/bin/pig), by default
pig.properties is picked from BASEDIR/conf, or you can set the environment
variable PIG_CONF_DIR to specify alternate location.
See the initial comments in bin/pig shell script.
