Hello,
I have a question about PHP software licensing - why not trademark the name
"PHP" as an alternative to making the software package incompatible with
the GPL?
Are you honestly suggesting we replace a license with a trademark?
That is a top notch trolling idea!
It already is trademarked. It is TM, and a trademark of the PHP
Group. The difference is, it's only a TM and not an (R), where (R) is
a Registered Trademark.
That said, the trademarking of the name versus the license which
governs the usage of the software are two wholly-different animals.
And when you breed wholly-different animals, you get the platypus.
I'm sorry, but the discussion of platypi is beyond the scope of this
list.
