FAQ
Hi guys,

one objective I would like to see being added permanently is "Identify
packages with quite a few tickets being closed since last release and
actually MAKE a new package release". Fixing bugs in CVS is fine but it's
also important to get those out to the audience ;-)

Some prime candidates are:
Image_Graph
(http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=Image_Graph&status=CRSLR)
Date
(http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=Date&status=CRSLR)
DB_DataObject
(http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=DB_DataObject&status=CRSLR)
MDB2
(http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=MDB2&status=CRSLR)
HTTP_Upload
(http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=HTTP_Upload&status=CRSLR,
last release: 2004-08-11!!!)
MDB2_Driver_mysql
(http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=MDB2_Driver_mysql&status=CRSLR)
Validate
(http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=Validate&status=CRSLR)
Image_Transform
(http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=Image_Transform&status=CRSLR)
Image_Canvas
(http://pear.php.net/bugs/search.php?cmd=display&package_name[]=Image_Canvas&status=CRSLR)

This is also a statistic that should be added to the stats table (e.g.
titled CRSLR):

It's quite frustrating to see that certain issue have long been fixed but
not officially released. It would be great if this topic could be added to
the objective list.

Thanks and best regards,

Torsten

PS. The wiki page says the next triage is on 28/29th but the Google calendar
says it's on 27/28th?

Indeed. The bug tracker has a link on the top left to show the
fixed/closed bugs since the last release, but there is no general
overview page which would really help.

We'll give the waiting releases more attention.

Since a lot of these packages are still maintained somewhat, the best next
step to talk would be to (politely) email the maintainers and ask them if
    there is anything blocking a release/their plans/etc - cc in pear-qa, and
we'll probably be able to help out anyone who doesn't have much time etc.

FYI, the Date package has those bug fixes in its latest release, the
maintainer wasn't aware that he'd have to close them him self or some
such, so it happened after the release.
