FAQ
Hello,

I'm about ready to release the next feature release for PhpDocumentor,
v1.4.0 stable, and was wondering if anyone on here had tried using any of
the two alpha and/or two release candidates over the last couple of months?
I haven't fielded very many new bugs on them, so I thought I'd see if there
were any "looks good to me" experiences on here that I just haven't heard
yet.

Please let me know if you'd have any good/bad experiences with the
1.4.0candidates thus far. If all looks good, I hope to get
1.4.0 stable out later this week.

I've been trying RC2 (I think) for a couple days now and apart from my
own shortcomings in phpdoc syntax, it worked really well for me. Is
there anything specific you would like feedback on?

    Regards,

Mainly just looking for general "looks good to me", "and me", "and me too"
confidence boosters, as well as any "I hated that it did this to me"
occurrences if there were any. This will be my first feature release,
meaning my first "Chuck calls this stable"... in short, my first chance to
be hit by a flurry of WTFs if I missed something in my own testing on top of
not receiving any bug reports on the four preview releases.

So, nothing in particular, just any general observations if anyone has tried
    the preview releases... thanks everyone!

    just a question in general,

why does it list all files and tells me they are ignored if i say

    ignore = /www/path/documentation/*

    File /www/path/documentation/file Ignored
    File /www/path/documentation/path/file Ignored
    ...
    File /www/path/documentation/path123/File10285 Ignored
    ...

isn't it a waste of time to iterate into this directory if i told them to
    ignore it?

even if it really is required to iterate through this directory, than just
display only this that are, why ever, not ignored

    File /www/path/documentation/* Ignored
    File /www/path/documentation/whyever/file Not Ignored

I think this is how PhpDocumentor has always behaved... my assumption has
been that it wants to be sure you realize exactly what it had skipped, hence
the explicit warning messages coded into the logic.

I can see your point though, as a performance issue, especially if I had say
twenty directories that each had a thousand files, and I wanted it to skip
five of the directories. That would make for a ton of "ignored" lines and
the lost time it used scanning those directories, and force me into using
the -d with an explicit list of directories I wanted included rather than
just using -i to list the few dirs I wanted excluded.

I wonder if that would be a feasible enhancement for 1.5...
