Thank you for taking the time to write to us, but this is not
a bug.

0 stands for emergency: const LOG_EMERG = 0;

So it will only log emergency and higher, whereas:

const LOG_DEBUG = 7;

I'm running Centos 5.5, PHP 5.3.5. When I use 0, or '0', I do not get an
error, but I also do not get anything written in the log. The only way I
can get debug items to log is to use System_Daemon::LOG_DEBUG as the
value.

Here are my options
$daemonOptions = array(
'appName' => 'app_name',
'appDir' => dirname(__FILE__),
'appDescription' => 'Auto Posting',
'authorName' => 'Dan G',
'authorEmail' => 'dan@',
'sysMaxExecutionTime' => '0',
'sysMaxInputTime' => '0',
'sysMemoryLimit' => '1024M',
'appRunAsGID' => 100,
'appRunAsUID' => 100,
'appDir' => '/home/......',
'appExecutable' => 'app_name.php',
'logVerbosity' => System_Daemon::LOG_DEBUG,
'logFilePosition' => true,
'logTrimAppDir' => false,

);

If you can provide more information, feel free to add it

Thank you for your interest in PEAR.

Hi Dan,

I tried the logparser.php example with:
- no logVerbosity option
- numeric logVerbosity option
- constant logVerbosity

But was unable to reproduce any error?

Description:
------------
'logVerbosity' requires a type in the Daemon class however, I was not
able to get the daemon to start when I used a number, I ended up using
this:

'logVerbosity' => System_daemon::LOG_DEBUG
