    Well done!
(and thank goodness it wasn't me that had to do it ;-)

    Fantastic job! The checksums I am seeing differ, though;

    7db7c4b9d6f2e095eaebd9e22d81acc1 /home/jpl/perl-5.12.0.tar.gz

Did I grab it from the wrong place?

    http://search.cpan.org/dist/perl-5.12.0/

Or did a last-minute change modify the checksum?
I have downloaded a couple times, and I'm seeing the
same (wrong?) checksum consistently -- jpl

No, I think he's giving SHA1 hashes, and you are calculating an MD5.

    I'm sure I was NOT using sha1. I was, indeed, using md5.
Looks just fine when I use the right checksummer.
The official download site makes it clear that sha1
should be used, so others are less likely to be confused
that I was. Indeed, others are often less confused than
    I am. Thanks again.

But I got confused after reading your text :)
    Hehehe.

Notice the difference in length? You're using MD5, the provided checksum
    is SHA1.

Thank you for enduring six months of pain to get this done.

london.pm are having a release party at The Gunmakers tomorrow evening:

    http://london.randomness.org.uk/wiki.cgi?Gunmakers%2C_EC1R_5ET

There's still time for you to get there. :-)

(Not sure if this is the first ever off-topic london.pm social. Not that it
matters - it was a good reason to go to a good pub)
