FAQ
The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

modid: Search::Indexer
DSLIP: MdpOp
description: Fulltext indexer with BerkeleyDB as backend
userid: DAMI (Laurent Dami)
chapterid: 11 (String_Lang_Text_Proc)
communities:

similar:
KinoSearch

rationale:

This module provides support for indexing a collection of
documents, for searching the collection, and displaying the sorted
results, together with contextual excerpts of the original document.

As far as this module is concerned, a document is just a buffer of
plain text, together with a unique identifying number. The caller is
responsible for supplying unique numbers, and for converting the
original source (HTML, PDF, whatever) into plain text.

Searching requests may include plain terms, "exact phrases", '+' or
'-' prefixes, boolean operators and parentheses. See
Search::QueryParser for details.

The indexer uses three files in BerkeleyDB format

enteredby: DAMI (Laurent Dami)
enteredon: Tue Sep 23 18:45:23 2008 GMT

The resulting entry would be:

Search::
::Indexer MdpOp Fulltext indexer with BerkeleyDB as backend DAMI

    Is there some way that you could work "full text" and "BerkeleyDB" into
    the name?

    Also, if this is the Indexer portion, it probably doesn't belong in
    Search. The module doesn't help people search various things, just your
    thing. :)
