FAQ
Hi,

I am trying to connect Oracle 10g with Perl v 5.4.4 and DBI v1.20 on
Solaris 10, but getting following error.

My sample code:

The sample program (sample.pl):
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------

use DBI; # Load the DBI module

### Perform the connection using the Oracle driver

my $dbh = DBI->connect( "dbi:Oracle:", "pakumar",

"pakumar" , {

PrintError => 0

} )

or die "Can't connect to Oracle database: $DBI::errstr\n";

------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------

Error:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
perl sample.pl
install_driver(Oracle) failed: DBI/DBD internal structure mismatch
(dr:144/152, db:144/152, st:184/192, fd:128/128), you probably need to
rebuild the DBD driver (or possibly the DBI).

at sample.pl line 8.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
---

Would be highly thankful for your help.

Thanks,

Pankaj

    Hi,

    The problem is not with the database connection, i think its with this
    line -die "Can't connect to Oracle database: $DBI::errstr\n";

    You need to access the error string using the database handle. i.e.
    $dbh->errstr
