Just be sure to put it back on when you're finished. I'm sure that
whatever its covering is not a pretty sight. :}b

    Sorry I bothered you all.
I was not trying to be a pest - just asking a question that I did not
    know the answer to.
    Thanks,

I am quite sure no one was upset at you. If you don't know, you have
to ask. We just pointed you to where you could find the information.

Maybe it's the phase of the moon. Another 'individual' asked just today.
At least you are asking nicely.

If you send email to [email protected] you will receive
instructions that include how to unsubscribe from this list.

The same instructions were sent to you when the list moved to
perl.org or when you subscribed, whichever was later. All these
addresses are also in the headers of all messages sent through
    dbi-users.

If you have already tried the instructions from
d[email protected] and were not able to get removed from the
list, please send your request to [email protected] as the
instructions tell you to, not to the list.

Thank you for starting a new thread and asking politely.

The request for removing from the list comes up now and then. Maybe it
is a good idea to move the sub/unsub info from the header to the
trailer. In the current arrangement, if one does not show all the
headers information, the sub/unsub instruction can not be seen in a
straight way. People usuallly only show the 'normal' headers, like From,
To, Date etc. Of course, unsubscribe like subscribe is always the one's
own fault, but making the unsub-info more obvious will do help people
who can not get rid of the list by themselves due to various reasons. I
believe if they know how to do it, they would not bother to spend much
much more time on keeping sending such a request to the list, yet on the
risk of becoming the target being bashed.

The last time we had a big burst of such requests (about 17 months ago)
the instructions were below the signature. One reason I phrase my
boilerplate instructions as sharply as I do is to make them noticable
enough to minimize the mass requests. It seems to work, we only get
    one request most months.

That would be an intelligent move IF one received instructions.
The point of my comment about [email protected] was that NO reply
was received. I went back and looked at the header of various messages,
and [email protected] is not mentioned.

I really don't want to make you more angry, but it does appear that
something is broken. Instead of pointing out how stupid we are, could
you check out our problems and help us instead?
Angry isn't an issue, but this does show a weakness of depending on
direct email. I couldn't answer you while I was at work.

It appears that something is blocking the automated responses from the
    server hosting dbi-users. I got a response to dbi-users-help while I
was drafting my previous message and I think you need to respond to
another automated response to unsubscribe using dbi-users-unsubscribe.

Email to [email protected] will get a human response.
