[ below is the standard message that resolved ~90% of all issues
brought to one of the -owner addresses at perl.org ]

    Hi,

This is a standard message. Please read the whole thing carefully and
send a new mail mentioning that you already understood and tried
everything mentioned here if you still have problems.

    Q) I want to unsubscribe!

    A) Send mail to <beginners-unsubscribe@perl.org>, and wait for a
response. Once you reply to the response, you'll be
unsubscribed. For another list, for example the jobs list use
    jobs-unsubscribe@perl.org. (And so forth)

If that doesn't work, find the email address which you
are subscribed from and send an email like the following
(let's assume your email is foo@bar.com):

    <beginners-unsubscribe-foo=bar.com@perl.org>

If the mailinglist you want to unsubscribe from is
listed on learn.perl.org you can also go to
    http://learn.perl.org/ and unsubscribe from there.

If you can look at the "full headers" from a mail from
the list you can see which address you are subscribed
    with.

    Q) I want to subscribe!

Please refer to the question above, http://learn.perl.org/ or
    http://lists.perl.org/

    Q) Can I have all the mailing list messages for a given day
emailed to me in a single message, as a sort of digest?

    A) Yes, subscribe to the digest version of the list. The
digest version has the same name just with "-digest"
appended. To subscribe to the digest for beginners-cgi,

    Q) [Questions regarding Perl or anything else that is not administrative
related to the list operation] ...

    A) Please send mail to the list and not to the -owner address. See
http://learn.perl.org/ for information about how to subscribe to
the beginners lists and http://lists.perl.org/ for a long list of many
many Perl related mailinglists. The -owner address is only for
    issues with the mailinglist itself.
