FAQ
Hi All,

Our developers use both JBuilder and IDEA for most of their development
work. Unfortunately, the JBuilder plugin has stagnated quite a bit compared
to the IDEA plugin. To facilitate our developers being able to use JBuilder
side by side with Maven, I have taken it upon myself to do a large scale
rewrite of the JBuilder plugin and am submitting it here for people to bang
on and play with.

There are several things worth noting-

- The plugin attempts to find JBuilder's "HOME" directory where it will read
the user's default project properties file.
- The JBuilder "HOME" directory is also where library files are generated.

- When you generate a JBuilder project file, the plugin iterates through its
dependencies. For each dependency, a library definition file is generated
for the dependency jar in the local repo. This dependent library file is
generated if, and only if, the library file does not already exist or the
library file was previously generated the same way.

- The previous point means that when you generate a jbuilder library
definition file directly from a Maven project (using the
jbuilder:generate-library goal) you will replace any previous definition of
the library that was generated as a jar-only dependency with a library
definition that references both the source and class files.

- For library definitions that remain jar-only references to the local repo,
you can specify a path to the corresponding source code via a property.

So far, this working quite well for us. I am curious to get additional
feedback from other Maven/JBuilder users.

Here's my latest update to the JBuilder plugin. It now adds resources to the
    JBuilder project source path.

Okay, I have opened MAVEN-461 and attached the latest version of my plugin.
One glitch is that I committed the report with some typos in the description
section and I do not see how to reedit the report. I guess it is a small
    issue in the larger context...

FYI, I have updated the JBuilder plugin patches attached to MAVEN-461. The
main change is from a user's suggestion. Now, library files that are
automatically generated from versioned (not snapshot) artifact dependencies
are versioned themselves. This is also true for snapshot dependencies where
an unversioned library file has not been created yet from the corresponding
artifact. As before, if an unversioned library file has already been created
for a snapshot dependency, the unversioned library will be referenced.

Two other small changes are that I added support for JBuilder 9 and I added
a maven.jbuilder.verbose property to help when debugging.
