FAQ
Hi, friends, I am new to Hadoop. I've setup Hadoop on a Linux server as the
namenode. I want to make up use of my laptop (WindowsXP + cygwin). When I
tried to run bin/start-all.sh from namenode, problems were raised:
-----------------------
192.168.1.16: starting datanode, logging to
/nutch/search/logs/hadoop-nutch-datanode-vgao.out
192.168.1.16: 501 Protocol scheme 'file' is not supported
192.168.1.16: Content-Type: text/plain
192.168.1.16: Client-Date: Tue, 16 Jan 2007 09:31:47 GMT
192.168.1.16: Client-Warning: Internal response
192.168.1.16:
-----------------------

And I found the error listed below in the log file:
-----------------------
2007-01-16 16:47:12,250 ERROR org.apache.hadoop.dfs.DataNode: java.lang.
IllegalArgumentException: port out of range:-1

at org.apache.hadoop.dfs.DataNode.runAndWait(DataNode.java:1077)
