I'm trying to run a topology on a local cluster as a DRPC call on Storm
Since the processing can be quite intensive en heavy, I'd like to increase
the timeout of the RPC call beyond the default of 10 minutes
The code is as follows:

Config conf = new Config();
conf.put(Config.DRPC_REQUEST_TIMEOUT_SECS, 60*60);
LocalDRPC drpc = new LocalDRPC();
LocalCluster cluster = new LocalCluster();
cluster.submitTopology("test1", conf, buildTopology(drpc));
drpc.execute("calculate", null);

However, this still causes the execute to return after 10 minutes after
Nimbus decided to shut itself down.
Does anyone have an idea what is wrong with the above code?

I noticed that LocalCluster's constructor takes a map, so I tried given it
the conf object, but an internal NullPointerException followed upon
construction of LocalCluster.
Which leads me to question number 2: is there any documentation on
LocalCluster and LocalDRPC?

This project seems interesting, but harvesting info on blogs and articles
is tiresome, especially since most of those are about older versions

    I must say I'm confused.

    I went ahead and checked out the project to inspect the source. I tried
    master, 0.7.5, 0.8.2 and 0.9.
    The only mentions of drpc.request.timeout.secs is in its definition in
    Config.java and defaults.yaml, but nowhere are they used.

    How is this supposed to work? Yet, when I try the code mentioned above, it
    times out at 10 mins....
