FAQ
Hi,

I see in my master logs following pattern of exceptions:

AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get'

2014-11-21 05:57:31,577 [salt.utils.minions][ERROR ] Failed matching
available minions with grain pattern: roles:riemann.server

Traceback (most recent call last):

   File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/salt/utils/minions.py", line 466,
in check_minions

     }[expr_form](expr, greedy)

   File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/salt/utils/minions.py", line 189,
in _check_grain_minions

     return self._check_cache_minions(expr, greedy, 'grains')

   File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/salt/utils/minions.py", line 177,
in _check_cache_minions

     salt.utils.fopen(datap, 'rb')

AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get'

I am wondering if anyone actually met such problem, I am using 2014.7.0.

Best regards
Lukasz

If you can verify that this happens after ensuring your configs and
commands are correct, will you file a bug on this including if possible
a minimal example that triggers the error? Thanks.

I noticed that exceptions were happening during scheduer run (every 10
minutes I saw the very same exception) and also during running
orchestration, however it works without exception when I was running
    overstate or highstate or state.sls.

By the way I notice overstate system doesn't print what changes were
applied during every stage, can you point me how to bring back that
information, because so far I can only see that from halite, however I am
not sure if halite indicates changes or just success/failures.

I will still trying to figure it out why when running orchestrate there are
random changes applied due to the fact than randomly mine.get returns empty
    value.
    Thats actually pretty strange

    Will keep u updated

Both of these behaviors seem suspect to me, so don't hesitate to open
bug(s) if you feel you have conclusive behavior. Thanks.
