FAQ
Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to write a windows COM object (in particular to extend explorer.exe) in go?

My feeling from browsing this list is no, but would be happy if i was wrong?

    If your COM server lives in DLL, then no - it is impossible to build a DLL
    with Go. If you COM server can live inside of .exe, then, I suspect, it is
    possible. I haven't done it myself, so take my advise with a pinch of salt.

    I have a vague feeling this might be possible with gccgo, and probably with
    some C/C++ stub/wrapper code; see e.g.:
       http://stackoverflow.com/a/15760986/98528
    but I won't swear by it either. I have never used gccgo myself yet.

    /Mateusz.
