FAQ
It's actually all in the subject line: Does the local development server
for Go on App Engine – invoked via goapp serve – support Google Cloud
Storage? I'm using the file package
(https://godoc.org/code.google.com/p/appengine-go/appengine/file) and oddly
enough, blobs appear in the Blobstore Viewer. There is no Google Cloud
Storage navigation item visible on the admin console (localhost:8000).

Can anybody clarify?

    +google-appengine-go, golang-nuts to BCC

    I think the folks on the google-appengine-go mailing list can answer this.

    That's correct. If you use the file package locally, your files will end
    up in the blobstore. This does make it a pain to "manually" check what
    files are there (via the admin console) but it isn't *too* much work to
    make your own little admin-only handler where you paste in a bucket name
    and an object name and the handler spits out the blobstore URL
    corresponding to that object. The relevant bits of code would be something
    like:

    func FilesApiPath(bucket, filename string) string {
      return "/gs/" + bucket + "/" + filename
    }

    [...]

    // When running on devappserver, GCS files are stored locally in the blobstore
    gcsPath := FilesApiPath(bucket, filename)
    blobKey, err := blobstore.BlobKeyForFile(ctx, gcsPath)
    if err != nil {
      return "", err
    }

    return "http://localhost:8000/blobstore/blob/" + string(blobKey) + "?display=inline", nil
