FAQ
Hi,

I try to compile go source code on Mac OS X 10.8 and I got the following
error while compiling cmd/go:

./make.bash: line 119: 34589 Bus error: 10
"$GOTOOLDIR"/go_bootstrap clean -i std

Could someone give some hint what might cause this error?

Thanks
Robert

try running it directly under gdb

    gdb $GOROOT/pkg/tool/darwin_amd64/go_bootstrap clean -i std

Also, is this 1.0.3 or tip ?

    It's branch 15429.

    When I try
    gdb go_bootstrap clean -i std
    it says
    Interpreter `std' unrecognized

    Then I try
    gdb go_bootstrap
    gdb)run
    I got the following message:

    gdb go_bootstrap clean -i std
    it says
    Interpreter `std' unrecognized

    Then I try
    gdb go_bootstrap
    gdb)run
    I got the following message:

Also, is this 1.0.3 or tip ?

    Hi,

I try to compile go source code on Mac OS X 10.8 and I got the
    following
    error while compiling cmd/go:

    ./make.bash: line 119: 34589 Bus error: 10
    "$GOTOOLDIR"/go_bootstrap clean -i std

Could someone give some hint what might cause this error?

    Thanks
    Robert

do you mean the error message I got is not so clear that I need to install
    gdb 7?

(sigh) I forgot that apple don't ship gdb 7.x, you'll have to install
it from source / macports / homebrew. Sorry.
