Wherefrom can the source code definition of a View be obtained?

If sys.dba_views, it's Field "TEXT" is a LONG datatype. How can it's contents be read?

    You might want to increase the value of sqlplus' variable long.

    set long 8000

    then

    select text from dba_views where ....

    Or you can spool them into a file using utl_file package.
