We are looking for some real senior oracle DBA. The job description is
below. The workplace is in San Jose, and will be reponsible for supporting
company mission critical databases.

Successful candidate will provide a third tier support for multiple oracle
databases within the organization. Person should be comfortable dealing with
complicated and non-standard break-fixes for which standard support is not
sufficient. Periodic on-call/off-hours duties are part of this position.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver on deadline is a must.
In addition candidate is expected to take an initiative when required and to
proactively address issues based on the experience and an established
standard. Individual will be participating in the design consultations with
various organizations and as such should be able to clearly articulate and
substantiate given recommendations.
As a member of the team candidate is expected to work alongside fellow DBAs
and to help others on as needed basis as well to ask for help when
appropriate.
Broad understanding of the current informational technologies is a big plus.

Coaching and assistance to junior database administrators may need to be

BS in technical field required
• Minimum six years hands on knowledge of Oracle in a production environment
• Minimum four years experience working in 24x7 environment
• Experience troubleshooting and tuning Oracle in a production environment
• Experience with very large production databases (200 GB+)
• Understanding of multi-tier architectures from a conceptual level
• Operational environments with a DBA background is essential for this job,
ideally OCP certification
• Experience with database replication technology, preferably Shareplex
• Proven problem solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution
• Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure
environment
• Mid-level Unix system administration skills
• Some Windows system administration skills
• Basic LAN and WAN network knowledge
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Motivated self-starter personality; must be able to work independently of
supervision but be a willing and contributing participant on

    As someone people asked me some question about it, let me clarify to those
    who may concern.
    We are a big oracle user and we run busy oracle instances. This is a senior
    position and very good understanding of how oracle works and troubleshooting
    ability is important.
    This is a permanent position and we don't need contact at this time.
