Has anyone heard of a method of using RMAN to perform a
character-set conversion?

We need to go from non-pure ASCII to Unicode, in several databases,
and we're chasing any and all opportunities for speed.

    One word of warning about that... I did such an animal... And had
    backups work and restores failed. Not a nice scenario.
