I agree with both of you, adding a support for a theme would be good. It
would be a good idea to have a complete generic theming/slyling system that
can be applied to any GFX based components including the future components.
For the moment I think it is a bit too early for the actual gauge package,
mainly because the gauges will have to be improved a lot before they can
take advantage of such a theming system.

Yes, I think themes would be good especially as CSS is removed (due to not
working with all GFX renders) even if we can live without them at first. I
also think consistency is good for end-user to not learn a new way to
achieve something each time he is using a Dojo component and so looking at
charting as inspiration source is good. Or maybe we find a more generic
theming solution that can be applied to both without re-using charting them
as-is.

The only thing I would like to see is themes for gauges and other drawn
widgets. Probably it should be in some ways similar to charting themes
(reuse them?), and include some specific elements as well, like special
shading procedures to present visual effects with overlaid gradients,
and whatnots, or even how to draw specific elements like ticks.
Cheers,

I'd love to give you commentary but it looks like a pretty
straightforward plan to me =) I like the look of the new ones as
well! The only thing I might consider is whether or not gauges should
end up being split out into it's own subproject as opposed to living
in dojox.widget; given the scope of what you're talking about, I think
that would be a good idea.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

Hello,
I have created a document that describes some enhancement that I want

the community.
You may find the reference to a ticket inside the document, this ticket
