FAQ
AFAIK, you can't use the cloud_controller_ng public DNS for the external
domain as is, you must create a wildcard DNS
record<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildcard_DNS_record> (if
you dig api.ec2-50-16-8-47.compute-1.**amazonaws.com<http://api.ec2-50-16-8-47.compute-1.amazonaws.com/>
you
won't get any result). Assuming you have your own domain, on the AWS Route
create a hosted zone for that
domain<http://docs.cloudfoundry.com/docs/running/deploying-cf/ec2/#domain-prep>,
delegate DNS authority to AWS, and then create a wildcard DNS record.

Hi, I am using the attached deployment manifest file on AWS (I used bosh
for deploying cloudfoundry on AWS). It successfully got deployed without
any error. I can also see the the following instances created on AWS:

cloud_controller_ng/0
uaa/0
nats/0
mysql/0
dea/0

I can connect to each of these instances using the firstbosh private key

However, when I try to set the target from my cf client (that I installed
using: gem install cf), it just fails.

I use the following command to set the target:

cf target api.ec2-50-16-8-47.compute-1.**amazonaws.com<http://api.ec2-50-16-8-47.compute-1.amazonaws.com/>

where ec2-50-16-8-47.compute-1.**amazonaws.com<http://ec2-50-16-8-47.compute-1.amazonaws.com/> is
the public DNS for the cloud_controller_ng/0 node

The error I get is:

Setting target to http://api.ec2-50-16-8-47.**compute-1.amazonaws.com.<http://api.ec2-50-16-8-47.compute-1.amazonaws.com./>..
FAILED
Target refused connection.

Also, upon logging into the cloud controller instance,

curl http://10.215.33.175:9022/info
gives me :

root@3bc4eac4-497d-4f66-8bb7-**e9a2cd0b385d:/var/vcap/bosh_**ssh/bosh_vjwrgbb2m#
curl http://10.215.33.175:9022/info
<html>
<head><title>502 Bad Gateway</title></head>
<body bgcolor="white">
<center><h1>502 Bad Gateway</h1></center>
<hr><center>nginx</center>
</body>
</html>

Can someone provide any suggestions on what could be going wrong?
