FAQ
Hi,

    Do we need to create any symlink manually in /opt/cloudera/parcels/

ls -l /opt/cloudera/parcels

total 4

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 26 Mar 6 13:23 CDH -> CDH-4.4.0-1.cdh4.4.0.p0.39

drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 4096 Sep 5 2013 CDH-4.4.0-1.cdh4.4.0.p0.39

Thanks

    You should not have to -- they are automatically created by the agent
    on parcel activation. It is not clear why CDH would be a dead link --
    the directory seems to there. You could try removing the symlink, then
    deactivate and activate the parcel again.

    In our case the link is not present CDH -> CDH-4.4.0-1.cdh4.4.0.p0.39. But
    the cluster is running even after START & STOP.

    But not able to submit any job to cluster from any cluster machine. So we
    have created the link manually on client machine, now able to submit jobs
    to cluster

    But another cluster has that link present.

    Any Idea why there is such difference ?

    Did you disable "Create System Wide Symlinks" in the CM settings?
