FAQ
Hi Guys,

I am having issue with Impala 1.2.1 with CM-5 Beta, I download impala-1.2.1
with parcel mode. I have successfully download and distributed and
activated.

After resting cluster. Impala daemon not starting. Also not writing not
logs in system.

can you guide me. How to fix this ?

It's possible can I start impala daemons via command line it's possible.

I can see parcel folders available in /opt/cloudera/parcels/IMPALA

where I can see logs? I seen /var/log/impalad/ no logs.

    Hi Dhanasekaran,

When you click on a particular impala process, what do the stderr, stdout,
    and role logs say?

If nothing is there, is there anything interesting in the CM agent logs?
    /var/log/cloudera-scm-agent/cloudera-scm-agent.log

Are you using CDH 4? Impala parcels should only be used with CDH 4, since
they are included in CDH starting with CDH 5.

    Thanks,
    Darren

Impala 1.2.1 is not supported on CM 5 Beta. You must run 1.2.0. 1.2.1 is
    only supported on CM 4.8

Have you created a catalog server role in your impala service? It's new
    with 1.2.1.
