FAQ
I installed hadoop using cloudera manager parcels. I always have this
trouble:
If I disabled yarn log aggregation, I got this error message when I click a
link of maptask or reducetask in jobhistory:

Aggregation is not enabled. Try the nodemanager at XXXX:8041

And if I enabled log aggregation, the log folder on
hdfs:/tmp/logs/bwang/logs/application_XXX was owned by my account like this.

drwxrwx--- - bwang supergroup 0 2013-10-24 16:25
/tmp/logs/bwang/logs/application_1382656840471_0002

When I clicked a link of finished maptask/reducetask, I couldn't get the
logs, and In jobhistory log under /var/log/hadoop-mapreduce, there was an
exception like this:

2013-10-24 16:26:57,468 ERROR org.apache.hadoop.yarn.webapp.View: Error
getting logs for job_1382656840471_0002
org.apache.hadoop.security.AccessControlException: Permission denied:
user=mapred, access=EXECUTE,
inode="/tmp/logs/bwang":bwang:supergroup:drwxrwx---
         at
org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.namenode.FSPermissionChecker.check(FSPermissionChecker.java:224)
         at
org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.namenode.FSPermissionChecker.checkTraverse(FSPermissionChecker.java:177)

If manually change the permission, the log can be returned.

What's wrong with my installation?

Thanks.
