FAQ
Hello,

I am setting up a new hadoop cluster. I have installed the cloudera
manager and have successfully added my hosts.

I was trying to build the cluster with the manager and using parcels, it
has been on step 2 downloading the packages for about two hours now. It is
at 30%.

I have not found any clues
in /var/log/cloudera-scm-server/cloudera-scm-server.log

I am using centos 6.4

Any ideas on what I should do?

TIA

    Hi Jim,

It looks like the wizard finished downloading the parcel but had trouble
begin distribution. Can you reply with the following information:
    - on the server host, the content of all files under
    /opt/cloudera/parcel-repo
    - the server log at /var/cloudera-scm-server/cloudera-scm-server.log
    - at least one agent log at
    /var/log/cloudera-scm-agent/cloudera-scm-agent.log

Also, the wizard should have created the cluster for you, so you can also
go to Hosts->Parcels and try to trigger Download/Distribute/Activate
    separately.

Well I actually got it to work. I ended up uninstalling the cloudera
manager, stopping all of the agents/hosts. Then did a re-install and
    everything went well.

The reason I went this route was that when watching tcpdump output while
the install was supposed to be taking place it seemed to be resolving the
hostnames different than what I expected. I made sure the managers host
file and all of the hosts host files were accurate before doing the
    re-install.

Now on to resolving why the oozie install does not have the oozie-setup.sh
    script??

    Thanks
