FAQ
I had a problem installing on one of my named nodes (it was not picking up
on the hostname).
I fixed the hostname, but now the install seems to be caught in a state of
limbo.
When I go to the console of the cloudera manager, it seems to resume an
install and says
'Thank you for choosing Cloudera Manager and Cloudera's Distribution
Including Apache Hadoop (CDH). This installer will deploy the following
services on your cluster'

If go through the install, and it tells me I have 7 currently managed hosts
(the nodes I installed on previously). However the nodes are not part of a
cluster, and if I try to add them to a cluster, I get 'The maximum number
of supported clusters (1) has already been reached; another cluster cannot
be added.'

How can I finish this, and add my services? Do I need to uninstall from all
the nodes and start from scratch?

When I try to add a service, I am told that there are 'No hosts found'.
So they are managed, but can't be added to the cluster.

Cloudera manager free supports only 1 cluster.
They are in single default cluster.
Did you try to add services?

what you see on hosts tab?

I don't want to add another cluster, I just want to make the current 7
    nodes member of that cluster.

Seems to be ok now. Not sure exactly what fixed it. I decommissioned and
recommissioned the nodes, then tried to add them to the cluster. Then I
noticed 2 instances of host inspector running. So I aborted both. I can now
    add services ok.
