FAQ
HI All,

I installed CM in Ubuntu 10.04 and when i try to install cdh4 using CM is
not recognizing parcels.

I done the parcels creation in Centos 6.1, it created extra files but in
Ubuntu i struct over here.

  root@host:/opt/cloudera/parcel-repo# createrepo .
/usr/share/createrepo/dumpMetadata.py:24: DeprecationWarning: the md5
module is deprecated; use hashlib instead
   import md5
/usr/share/createrepo/dumpMetadata.py:25: DeprecationWarning: the sha
module is deprecated; use the hashlib module instead
   import sha
/usr/share/createrepo/dumpMetadata.py:47: DeprecationWarning: use the name
attribute
   fname = self.filename[:-3]
Saving Primary metadata
Saving file lists metadata
Saving other metadata.

Because of this warnings am i miss anything for parcels metadata.

Can anyone suggest me on this.

Thanks,
Anil kumar

    What is 'createrepo', and what do you mean by 'parcel creation'? Did you
    try and create a custom parcel?

    Hi Anil,

    Ok, I think I understand what you want to do. You want to create a local
    mirror because your CM server cannot access the internet?

    You have two choices:

    1) Run a local web server to mirror the parcel repo from
    archive.cloudera.com

    In this case, you simply serve the contents from
    http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh4/parcels/latest/

    You can leave out parcels that don't apply to your distros - just make sure
    you have the manifest.json

    2) Copy the parcel directly to the CM server, and bypass the download step.

    See this guide:
    http://www.cloudera.com/content/cloudera-content/cloudera-docs/CM4Ent/latest/Cloudera-Manager-Enterprise-Edition-Installation-Guide/cmeeig_topic_21_5.html

    Hope that helps,
