FAQ
I can run the HDFS Balancer fine from the command line; however, it doesn't
appear as a service/option within Cloudera Manager 4.5.1 (that was upgraded
from 4.0). On a new installation of 4.5.1 and CDH4, it appears on the
services page. I'm just curious as to how to add it as a service visible
within CM on my existing cluster - just talking aesthetics/accessibility
here really.

Thanks,
Chris

    Hi Chris,

Click on HDFS, go to the Instances tab, and add a Balancer instance. You
can then run the Rebalance command from the actions dropdown menu on the
    right.

    Thanks,
    Darren
