Is there a setting in cloudera manager that will allow me to change the
location of the temporary files for Hue/Beeswax/Map Reduce etc? It's not
immediately obvious to me where this setting is.

    Hi Jason,

    I agree this is not intuitive but what you'd want to do is to override
    the JVM (Java Options) for each of the required service to use a
    different, globally writable path for tempfiles. This can be done by
    adding to any service configuration's "Additional Java Options"
    property the following option:

    -Djava.io.tmpdir=/your/new/path
