FAQ
Hi All,

I installed a CDH4 cluster through CM using Parcels.

Now I'm looking at a way to install custom components (mainly LZO and
elephantbird) to every nodes running TT, and I would like to have the java
libraries added to -classpath and native libraries to -Djava.library.path.

With RPM install it's not a big deal because I could have installed my
components to the standard paths and restarted the TT, but now the install
is chrooted it's a bit more tricky.

Is there an elegant way to do that ?

Thanks in advance,

Benoit.

    Hi Benoit,

    Yes. Place the files in some location of your choice and then add the
    following your mapreduce environment safety valve.

    HADOOP_CLASSPATH=/path/to/lzo.jar:/path/to/elephant bird.jar
    JAVA_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/lzo/native/:/path/to/elephantbird/native/

    Then restart MR.
