Please make sure the following permissions are set:
User logged in to Hue has write permissions in hdfs for /user/<hueuser>
Hive user has write permissions in hdfs for /user/hive
Both above users have write permissions to your hive warehouse directory
and the target database (if not using default database). You can look up
the Hive warehouse directory in Hive service for CM 4.5+, or in Hue service
configuration for 4.1 and earlier.
It may also help to look in the role logs for hdfs and mapreduce for any
relevant errors (may help you figure out exactly what the destination
directory is). The /tmp/hue/hive_job_log... you mentioned above may also
have interesting errors.
