FAQ
Hi everybody,

I have installed CDH4 using Cloudera manager installer on ubuntu 12.04
,desktop version installed on the virtual machine
I've follow the instruction described on the website and everything goes smoothly
, but after parcel installation ,it goes to the Host
inspection phase, which shows my a lot of error and therefore fails to
start any service: it said that for each service : user [hdfs] does not
exist
and repeat it for each service zookeeper , mapred ....etc
in addition it could not recognize much of the components versions even i
installed the recent one it shows : not installed or path unavailable.
i'v attached a screenshot of what i got , i wish if anyone could help
Thanks in advance,
Ghadeer

Something must have gone wrong with the parcel installation. Click on the
top level parcel icon (which looks like a wrapped gift). What do you see?
    Is there an active parcel?

When you're going through the parcel installation, did you pick the CDH
parcel? If your cluster doesn't have access to archive.cloudera.com, you
need to set up a proxy first: Go to the admin setting (top right gear icon)
    -> Parcels -> Proxy server/port.

    Cheers,
