FAQ
Hi all,

An issue that came out of the upgrade was one of the oozie-hive jobs
failing... After manually updating /user/oozie/share/lib/hive the job
worked again...

One of the features I thought CM4.5 was meant to take care of was the
sharedlib ... was this just because it was an upgrade rather than an
initial install of an oozie service or is updating the folder in HDFS a
needed step in updating CDH in future?

Cheers,

James

    Hi James,

CM will install the shared libs when setting up a new Oozie service. Your
experience suggests that the older shared libs is not compatible with CDH
4.2, which is probably because of the new Hive 0.10 in CDH 4.2. I'll file a
    bug.

    Hi Bc

Indeed manually updating just the hive libs worked... Then to be on the
safe side I stopped oozie, removed the existing shared lib directory,
installed oozie shared libs from CM then started oozie to ensure all the
    components got updated.
