Adding scm-users@cloudera.org

Hi Julio,
Newer versions of Cloudera Manager support an alternative form of
distribution for CDH called parcels. Parcels allow for rolling upgrades of
various CDH components across minor CDH versions with minimal disruptions.
Since your version of Cloudera Manager is using parcels, the contents of
what you would see within the /usr/lib directory had you installed hadoop
from a package are now available by default at /opt/cloudera/parcels/<CDH
parcel>/lib

You can read more about managing parcels at

I installed CDH4 via cloudera manager. I was wondering why the hadoop jars
are located in :
/opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH-4.1.3-1.cdh4.1.3.p0.20/lib/hadoop/hadoop-common.jar

versus single-node install they are in /usr/lib/hadoop/hadoop-common.jar.
Any reason why it's not consistent ?
Thanks.
