    Dhanasekaran,

It is not a built file anymore with CM. If you go to an individual role,
and then under configuration files/environment if you click show, you can
see what is being set for the environment. You can then use the
environment safety valve to add your roles environment.

CM segregates server configuration from client configuration.

On the server side, there is no hadoop-env.sh. Environment are set in
configuration, and can be overridden in environment safety valve (a
    configuration field) as Kevin wrote.

On the client side, CM generates config for service clients. For example,
if you have both MR1 and MR2, you may see
    /etc/hadoop/conf.cloudera.MAPREDUCE-1 as well as
/etc/hadoop/conf.cloudera.YARN-1. You can switch between them using the
    alternatives system. E.g.:

    $ update-alternatives --config hadoop-conf

There are 5 programs which provide 'hadoop-conf'.

    Selection Command
    -----------------------------------------------
    1 /etc/hadoop/conf.empty
    2 /etc/hadoop/conf.cloudera.HDFS-1
    *+ 3 /etc/hadoop/conf.cloudera.MAPREDUCE-1
    4 /etc/hadoop/conf.cloudera.YARN-1
    5
    /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH-4.2.0-1.cdh4.2.0.p0.2/etc/hadoop/conf.empty

Enter to keep the current selection[+], or type selection number:

    Cheers,
    bc
