FAQ
Hi,

I am trying to install my first node.

From the UI its frozen and had been hours now.

When I check details this is what I see

/tmp/scm_prepare_node.7iNd7UQa
using SSH_CLIENT to get the SCM hostname: 103.4.112.121 48421 22
opening logging file descriptor

Starting installation script...

Acquiring Installation Lock

BEGIN flock 4

How do I resolve?

    Hi,

As of now, my issue is a blocker for using cloudera. Does anyone form
cloudera monitor this news group? Was this correct group to post this
issue? In not then what group should I post?

    Thanks

    Hi David,

Yes, this is the correct group to post this issue, and there are many
people from Cloudera who are on this new group.

Unfortunately, this is not in my domain of expertise, but I have forwarded
your issue to my co-worker who is.

Could you please tell us which version of Cloudera Manager you are using
and the Operating System that you are installing onto as well?

    thanks,

    Hi David,

This message means that the installer believes an existing installation is
still running. Did you run the installer and have it fail, for whatever
    reason, before you
ran it again and saw this error?

If you abort the installation and then delete the lock file on the host, it
should run when you try again:

    /tmp/.scm_prepare_node.lock
