FAQ
Hi,
Is there any way oozie can be configured to control the log size?
It is generating huge log messages.

    If you go to CM -> Oozie -> Configuration -> Enter "Log" in the config
    search box. You should be able to control the log policy.

    Hi

    i face the same issue
    I am using Cloudera manager Version: 4.0.4
    In CM i set the value for "Oozie Server Max Log Size" to 10MB. saved and
    Restarted oozie
    but still file size of the file "oozie-instrumentation.log" or
    "oozie-instrumentation.log.yyyy-mm-dd" goes beyond 10MB
    how can i handle this to restrict each log file size to max 10MB

    Regards
    Sundar

    Hi Mac & Sundar,

    That's a bug. CM only exposes controls for the main Oozie server log, but
    not the instrumentation log. You can work around it by using the Oozie
    logging safety valve configuration in CM. Put in something like:

    log4j.appender.oozieinstrumentation=org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender
    log4j.appender.oozieinstrumentation.MaxFileSize=10MB
    log4j.appender.oozieinstrumentation.MaxBackupIndex=10

    And restart Oozie.

    Cheers,
