FAQ
One of my cluster node has role instances- Zookeeper, data node and region server which has disk allocated disk space 100GB.
The average data node disk usage in my cluster shows around 40GB.

I have deleted data node and region server role instances and using zoo keeper.
But the disk space still shows around 43GB.

Deleting data node and Region server roles should free up the disk space ..???

We do not delete the underlying data when you delete a role, as that
would be incorrect to assume and perform (a role deletion can be
temporary or even accidental from users, and data we prefer to leave
to users to delete on their own - path of least surprise).

You can clear out the earlier configured dfs.data.dir for this DN to
free up its used blocks space. Same goes with ZK's dataDir configured
    dir.

It makes sense. The deletion could happen by accident as well.

    Thanks Harsh.
