FAQ
Hello,

Using Cloudera Manager 4.1 Free I'm trying to complete an install of CDH4.
It's mostly a stock install, though I did choose a custom combination of
HDFS, MapReduce, ZooKeeper, and HBase. When I get to the "Starting your
cluster services" page it fails on the second step, starting zookeeper
service. Details shows the child command failed with the following error:

http://pastebin.com/T7PwFtjH

Can anyone see where I've gone wrong here?

Thanks.

    Hi Brennon,

    Sorry to hear that. Is zookeeper installed on that node?

    Cheers,

    Yeah. And strangely I can start it from the command line with "service
    zookeeper start". But the starting your cluster services page still fails,
    and apparently kills the zookeeper processes.

    Can you do:
    $ ls -l /usr/lib/zookeeper
    $ jar tf /usr/lib/zookeeper/zookeeper.jar | grep QuorumPeerMain

    and send the results?

    Thanks,

    Turns out it was a problem with the repos. I had to prioritize the
    cloudera repos above others so the correct versions were installed.

    Thanks!
