FAQ
Hi,

Is there any example to setup hadoop HA with three machines only? Supposed
I have 3 machines like below :

- hadoop1 - 1 GB RAM / IP : 172.16.2.132
- hadoop2 - 1 GB RAM / IP : 172.16.2.133
- hadoop3 - 1 GB RAM / IP : 172.16.2.134

Where to start the correct setting like a step by step for beginner? And
I'm planning to use the Quorum-based storage method and without using the
cloudera manager.

Thanks.

    Hi,

Out of curiosity, why are you posting on scm-users if you don't plan to use
Cloudera Manager? I do recommend, if you're a beginner, that you configure
HA using Cloudera Manager first. It doesn't cost you anything and it will
save you time to get it right the first time.

You can probably distribute your daemons as such:

    hadoop1: NN1, QJ1, ZK1, TT, DN
    hadoop2: NN2, QJ2, ZK2, TT, DN
    hadoop3: JT, QJ3, ZK3, TT, DN

This is suitable for experimentation. In actual production deployments, I
would not recommend co-locating the Tasktracker and Datanode on the same
    machines as the master daemons.

    Regards,
