FAQ
Hi Lynx,

For CM-related questions, it's best to email the "scm-users" mailing list
instead of CDH user. I've BCCed the cdh-user list on this question and
moved it there, where someone can more readily help.

Cloudera Manager does not update CDH packages. You need to run yum update
(or the equivalent for your OS) on all your nodes.

The next version of Cloudera Manager, to be released soon, will provide
support to add JournalNode roles and to enable Quorum-based Storage High
Availability. The current released version of CM4.0 does not support this.

What happend, if I implement JournalNodes? Current version Cloudera Manager
will rewrite my settings, or all be ok?

Another question about HBase-thrift server, will be support on further
    releases?

Can you expand on what you mean by implement JournalNodes? Any changes made
directly to the config files in /var/run/cloudera-scm-agent/... will get
overwritten by CM. You might want to try using the safety valves to change
the configurations. Please note that manually running the JNs with the rest
of HDFS being managed by CM has not been tested.
Another question about HBase-thrift server, will be support on further
    releases?
Support for HBase Thrift server is scheduled for a future release.
