Hi,

we are using cloudera manager for deploying our cluster. pls let me
know if there is any doc for setting up user accounts on gateway
machine for submitting jobs through gateway machine.

    There's no specific doc for setting up users on the gateway nodes.
    Depending on if you have kerberos security enabled or not, there are a
    few places that users may need to get created.

    If there is no kerberos, you either need to create the users as local
    users on the gateway nodes, name node, and job tracker or you can use
    a central user repository (typically LDAP) so you can manage the
    accounts centrally.

    If you have kerberos enabled, you also need to make sure that you
    create a kerberos principal for each user and that the unix accounts
    exist on all nodes in the cluster. Again, it's much easier if you use
    something like LDAP to centrally manage the accounts.

    If you want to set up your own LDAP, I'd recommend taking a look at
    either OpenLDAP[1] or Apache Directory[2].
