    Hi Vinod,

Most likely, those hosts aren't heartbeating. When you visit the hosts
tab, what does it say for when the last heartbeat was?

To see why it's not heartbeating, visit the host, and check that the
cloudera-scm-agent is running. The logs are in /var/log/cloudera-scm-agent.

    Cheers,

    Hi Philip,

Yes there was no heartbeat the last heartbeat it shows is of yesterday.

From the Cloudera guide we tried the one you are mentioning too.

service cloudera-scm agent restart it throwed up the message FAILED
    .
    How do we fix this.

    Any thoughts.

    Thanks
    Vinod

    You need to examine the contents of /var/log/cloudera-scm-agent/*.{out,log}
    and see what failed.

    Hi Vinod,

It looks like you ran wordcount on /user/hadoop/gutenberg/gutenberg; does
that path exist? is there data up there?

    Hi,

I faced the same issue. I did the "Re-run Host Upgrade Wizard" on the Hosts
page. This has solved my issue.

    Thanks
