FAQ
I manually configured 18 node hadoop cluster "CDH4" and
its sub-components . Now I want use Cloudera Manager to manage the cluster
going forward. Can I simply add the cluster and its nodes to the management
interface, without any installation ?

    Hi Chakravarthy,

Unfortunately, you'll need to shut down the existing services (and make
sure they're "chkconfig off"). You'll be able to install CM in such a way
that it uses the same data directories, which will let you pick up where
you left off with data. Any custom settings that you've setup will have to
    be re-configured.
