FAQ
I thought I'd try out Cloudera Manager 4 to install a new cluster.

For interoperability with existing clusters I chose to install the
latest version of CDH3.

Unfortunately, when the install on each node gets to the point of
installing the oozie-client, it tries to install cdh4 as the oozie-
client package has that listed as a dependency.

The installation then fails :((((((((((((

    Hi Graeme,

Can you ensure no "cloudera-cdh4.repo" or CDH4 urls exist under
/etc/yum.repos.d/ directory on any of your nodes, then run "sudo yum
clean all" across all nodes, and retry?

Thanks for that - found that cdh4 repo - no idea how it got there as these
    are clean machines...

Anyway - after getting rid of that most of machines now install - but i
cant install on the machine that is running
cloudera manager. It fails in the install of oozie-client.

Seeing as i wont be running hbase or hue on these boxes, is there a way to
tell cloudera manager 4 not to install all those extra packages ?

    Hi Graeme,

Can you visit that specific node and do a "yum remove oozie* hadoop*
hbase* hue* zookeeper* hive* pig*" to ensure all CDH4 remnants are
removed? Once done, you can try to add the host in again.
